Weekly Notices - 6 July 2025
“Jesus comes whether we like it or, to Afflict the comfortable
But Thank you Jesus, You also come to Comfort the Afflicted!”
Last Sunday's scriptures are the uncomfortable one starting with Paul's letter to the Jesus followers in Rome, Chapter 8 v 9-11 (Best read in the Message Bible!)
Never forget Jesus's favourite word. Matthew's Gospel puts in wonderfully 13 v 28 "COME". Always he calls us, to come to Him. In Youth Ministry we have a saying ‘Whatever the question, the Answer always ends in "Jesus"!’ :)
Reaching out in the One Mission he gives us. "Don't worry about what to say" (Mark 13 v11). If you pray before you speak, trusting Him, he will give you words. "Not by might, not by power, but by my Spirit" says the Lord (as quoted by Zech 4 v6). Aka Don't try hard in your strength LEAN hard into Him :D
Whatever you do, speak from your heart, not your head. Nice words not soaked in love from your heart will not be heard. But people, like you and I, know when others speak from their heart to us!
"Do unto others as you would have them do to you" ! :)
And your homework was to please read Revelation Chapter 2 + 3 and pick the Church that the Angel described, that is the closest to how you think we are :)
In His grip, Patrick

Prayer for Leading Your Church into Growth
God of mission, who alone brings growth to your Church, send your Holy Spirit to give vision to our planning, wisdom to our actions, joy to our worship, and power to our witness. Help our parish churches to grow in numbers, in spiritual commitment to you, and in service to our local community. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
