From the minister

Months ago, the Lord placed it on my heart that we need to have a healing service.

I sensed the hurts and bruises of life that are there in your lives, just as I sensed I needed time away from West Africa to also heal.

When I shared briefly with all 30 of the community workers that meet for lunch once a month in the Hornby Community Centre, that there would indeed be a healing service and it would definitely include emotional wounds and scars, there was a soft collective sigh amongst them all, with many quietly saying "yes....".

Jesus repeatedly said He came that we might know His joy in our souls. Indeed he said he wanted our cups to be brimming over with the deep contentment and peace and love and joy... meaning all the good things of life that we were created to know.

His favourite words?   “Come to me…. “

“Special Invite from Him to come

To St Colomba’s @7pm 26th September”

Patrick

There will be no 4pm worship service at St Saviour’s, Templeton tonight.

But if anybody would like to come with us (Patrick and T), we have 3 seats free going to Amberley Holy Innocents after lunch for a 4pm Service where T and I are leading an Iona Holy Communion Service and speaking about West Africa.

Contact us immediately on 022 69 20113 or 0272727 919 to grab your seat.

Readers...

Please enjoy practicing the readings each week. Don't forget to use a loud voice and speak nice and slowly making eye contact with the congregation. Like the Great Thanksgiving, slower speaking equals profoundness. Our Holy Scriptures truly are profound.

Prayer Leaders:

Lets begin to move away from our own monologue and please start leaving good pauses inviting our congregations to add their own contributions. PLEASE everyone, when you do say a prayer aloud in these pauses, make sure it is LOUD so we can truly join in :)  "BE, PREPARED" :) In order to help us respond with some affirmation when folk use objections or excuses for not wanting anything to do with Jesus, I urge you to learn from Cliff Knechtle in these short clips available on youtube
