Who Are You?
Dear Everyone,
"Who are you?" If someone asks us this question we normally just say our name. In our life we are given many names. Our parents gave us the name that's on our birth certificate. But we are often given nick names by our parents or other kids at school. Some of these names may be positive often they are negative and some times straight out hurtful. The names people call us can have a lasting effect on how we think of ourselves.
The more important question is, "Who are you in Christ?" The Bible tells us the truth about ourselves. Both before we are saved by Jesus and who we are when Jesus becomes our Saviour.
Here are just a few examples of who you are in Christ:
I am the temple of the Holy Spirit. (1 Corinthians 6:19).
I am the light of the world. (Matthew 5:14).
I am more than a conqueror. (Romans 8:37).
I am accepted in the beloved. (Ephesians 1:6).
I am beloved and chosen by God. (1 Thessalonians 1:4).
I am an ambassador for Christ. (2 Corinthians 5:20).
I am healed by the wounds of Jesus. (1 Peter 2:24).
I am free from condemnation. (Romans 8:1).
I am complete in Christ. (Colossians 2:10).
We need to get these wonderful truths about who we are in Christ into our hearts and not just our heads. To do this you take one or two of these truths that really speak to you personally and then repeat them aloud to yourself. One suggestion is that you write some of the verses out and then stick them on the mirror so when you look at yourself in the morning you also say aloud who you are in Christ.
It really builds your faith and hope in Jesus and what He has done for you. Find out more <https://healthychristianhome.com/who-i-am-in-christ/>

A Prayer for the Future of our Parish: God of all hope, you have inspired your people in times past with visions of a good future and given them energy and resolve to achieve great things for your kingdom; endow us with wisdom at this time of change in our parish, unite us in love, give us your guidance, and help us to follow where you lead. In the name of Jesus Christ, the pioneer of our faith, Amen.
Strengthen Faith Through Confirmation: A public declaration of faith in God and our Lord Jesus Christ can be a significant step in our discipleship and a way of strengthening faith. Recently, a St Paul’s parishioner expressed a desire to be confirmed and the Bishop has agreed to come and lead this special service on Sunday 26 July. If anyone else in the parish would like to be confirmed please contact me/Mark Chamberlain on 0274327474 and we can form a discipleship group and prepare for confirmation together.
