Walking on Water
Dear Everyone,
I have never been able to walk on water and I suspect that none of you have either. (If I'm wrong please let me know!)
Both the Gospels of Matthew and Mark record the time when Jesus walked on the sea of Galilee at night (Matthew 14:25-31). The sea was rough and a strong wind was blowing. How did He do it? We have no idea. This was just one of many demonstrations of the power of God.
We call it "supernatural" power because it appears to break the physical laws of nature. So much of what Jesus did broke the so called laws of nature. The resurrection of Jesus is another wonderful example. We need to approach such events with humility. God knows more than us. Many things that we take for granted today were thought impossible just a few generations ago. Like being able to hold a small instrument in your hand and talk to a friend and see and hear them on the other side of the world, this was beyond our grandparents comprehension.
Paul tells us that our physical bodies are so limited in what they can do but when we are clothed with our immortal resurrections bodies we will be able to do things which, in this life, are normally impossible; like walk on water. (1 Corinthians 15:35-44) The difference is greater than the difference between an acorn and a mature oak tree.
Jesus gives us a glimpse of the glory and joy that is offered to all. This is why we who believe and trust in Jesus as our Saviour are able to live in hope and joy even though at times we face waves and wind and darkness in this life.

Listen: Write down any Bible verses or words that come into your mind as you wait on the Lord. Record any pictures or feelings that come to you as you pray.

To prepare for the Special General Meeting later this year we need to
make sure that the parish roll is accurate and up to date.
A copy of the current roll has been sent to each church.
Please check your entry and make any corrections that are needed.
If you see the name of some one who is no longer attending regularly
please put a question mark against the name.
If your name does not appear on the roll and you have been attending
services regularly for the at least the last three months, please write
your full name, and address on the blank sheet of paper that is with the
printed roll so that your name can be added to the official roll.
If your name is not on the roll you will not be able to vote at the Special
General Meeting

Sentence: Righteousness will go before Him and shall make His footsteps our pathway. (Psalm 85:13)
Prayer of the Day: O Lord our God, You came and spoke to Elijah when he was filled with doubt and fear and by Your word strengthened him. Help us to hear Your still quiet voice in the rush and noise of life that we too may be strengthened and encouraged in our walk with You, through our Saviour Jesus Christ and the blessed Holy Spirit. Amen.

Visiting
A couple of us have been visiting the sick and elderly! It is a joy to visit our church family when they can’t always come to the service. If you have a spare hour or so, we recommend paying a visit to someone who might not get so many visitors or can’t get out much at the moment. There are also people in the church who would be happy to provide a car ride to and from the service. Talk to Sarah to find out more.

Soft plastics can be dropped off at participating store locations. This is any plastic you can fold up in your hand.

Need meals or other in-home pastoral support? Please contact the Parish Pastoral Care Co-ordinator.
In-Home Communion
If parishioners can't attend church but would still like to have communion, this can be brought to you at your home or rest home. Please get in touch with the Home Communion Co-ordinator to organise this.
