"He is Risen!"
Is a joyous Christian proclamation celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday, signifying victory over sin and death. Based on the Gospel account (Matthew 28:6), it marks the empty tomb and Jesus's victory. It is often answered with "He is risen indeed!" to affirm faith in His eternal life.
Find out more in today’s Easter Day Services by Rev Mark Chamberlain at all three churches.
Three Ways You Can Support The Wardens and each other:
The Wardens are now responsible for the leadership of our parish. However, we all need to ‘step up’ and play our part as well.
Can I suggest that we all pledge to do the following;
1/ Pray for our Wardens and the future of our parish.
2/ Support the Wardens in practical ways as needs arise.
3/ Encourage one another especially those who offer to do something new.
This week at 10am on Good Friday Bishop Peter will be preaching and on Easter Sunday Mark Chamberlain will be at all three churches, 8.45am St Paul’s, 11am St Columba’s and 5pm St Saviour’s.
Next week April 12: service times change: St Paul’s West Melton will start at 9am, St Columba’s, Hornby will start at 10.30am and St Saviour’s, Templeton will remain at 5pm.
Today’s Sentence and Prayer
Sentence: Alleluia! The Lord is risen indeed. To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Alleluia! (Luke 24:34; Revelation 1:6)
Prayer of the Day: O God, you make this most holy night/day to shine with the glory of the risen Christ; stir up in your Church a spirit of adoption, so that, renewed in mind and body, we may dedicate our lives wholeheartedly to your service; through Jesus Christ, who is alive with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
Readings: Readings: Acts 10:34-43 and John 20:1-18
