Vision for a growing church"

- Prayer!

- A space that is inviting, welcoming, judgement-free, and where we feel comfortable and confident.

- Regular attendees building a connected family community with friendly familiar faces

- Getting to know each other well, such as in small groups and after service fellowship. [Note: So far we have a ladies’ group, a small young adults group, and Adam would like to start a mens’ group]

- Having a priest and communion, familiar structured service where we know what happens next, time for meditation.

- We all share the load (e.g., cleaning and property maintenance)

- Sunday school and child involvement

- We celebrate the history of our church

Three Ways You Can Support The Wardens and each other:

The Wardens are now responsible for the leadership of our parish. However, we all need to ‘step up’ and play our part as well.

Can I suggest that we all pledge to do the following;

1/ Pray for our Wardens and the future of our parish.

2/ Support the Wardens in practical ways as needs arise.

3/ Encourage one another especially those who offer to do something new.

24 May 2026 at 10.30am. All Age Service with shared lunch to follow at St Columba’s, Hornby.

Please NOTE: April 12 service times change: St Paul’s West Melton will start at 9am, St Columba’s, Hornby will start at 10.30am and St Saviour’s, Templeton will remain at 5pm.

Prayer for Leading Your Church into Growth

God of mission, who alone brings growth to your Church, send your Holy Spirit to give vision to our planning, wisdom to our actions, joy to our worship, and power to our witness.  Help our parish churches to grow in numbers, in spiritual commitment to you, and in service to our local community.  Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
