Weekly Notices - 15 February 2026

Dear Parishioners

“Speak for thy servant is listening” said little Samuel (1 Samuel Chapter 3 verse 10 onwards)

In a relationship we need to want to listen if we are really going to listen, is that not so?

In our relationship with Jesus (harkening back to God's word Sunday 1st February, as in walking WITH God, in the company of..) Jesus will feel our love and care just as a spouse or boy/girlfriend or a good friend would.

We listen to those we love.

Our neigbours will sublimely detect us caring about them if we are listening.

Listening to God certainly stretches me, how about you?

Do we write it down?

I immediately try to ASAP, because the gentle voice never repeats itself.

A child's attitude is instant listening (until they perhaps, modelling us 😒 , tune us out)

I want to always remain a child of God, one He is pleased with.

It’s funny being childlike, indeed I chuckle to myself, and also smile every time I see that oval mirror you have all seen from time to time.

[It will be up and shining next week! 🙂]

Paul wrote he was straining to finish running the race of life, not wanting to deviate from the path God has put him on. (from his letter to the Philippians Chapter 3)

Jesus says “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God” God’s way, the right, sane, adventurous way to live.

Jesus says “I have come that you (‘and you and you’) might have life and life to the full, ‘life to the max’ John Chapter 10 verse 10

Lois Allison had a full life! Whenever I visited her, we prayed together and she was a right good prayer! Lively sprightly and passionate about her love for Jesus.

I know she listened for His voice, I know she was instantly welcomed into his presence.

And her 97 body was transformed into a new body as promised. Woop woop  🙂

You and I are not idiots. God’s children listen because they actually know Him and have believed with trust and confidence in Him], and are persuaded that He is able to guard that which we entrust to Him until that day [when we stand before Him]

So, enjoy the relationship that Jesus offers you, be very grateful he died for you, paid for the sentence due to all of us, paid with his life, with His blood. And forgives us when we admit without excuses our wrongs and erases the record of our wrongs.
